Effective July 12, 2026
Community standards
Share useful climbing knowledge, respect other people, and do not turn location or social tools into a safety risk.
Serious safety threats
Do not threaten, encourage, coordinate, or celebrate violence or serious harm. Do not use route or location information to stalk, intimidate, ambush, or expose someone. Credible imminent threats may be escalated to emergency services or law enforcement.
Sexual exploitation and abuse
Sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate content, grooming, trafficking, and any sexual content involving minors are prohibited. We may immediately remove content, restrict accounts, preserve evidence, and make legally required reports.
Harassment, hate, and privacy
Do not target people with sustained harassment, degrading sexual remarks, hateful attacks based on protected characteristics, or encouragement of self-harm. Do not publish private contact details, home addresses, precise private locations, credentials, or other sensitive information without permission.
Authenticity and fair use
Do not impersonate others, manipulate ratings, coordinate fake engagement, run scams, distribute malware, or flood the app with repetitive promotion. Give credit and obtain permission for photos, route descriptions, and other work you did not create.
Climbing information
Make a good-faith effort to distinguish personal beta from verified facts. Do not knowingly post false access information, dangerous hardware claims, or instructions intended to cause harm. Respect closures, land-manager rules, cultural resources, wildlife restrictions, private property, and local ethics.
Context matters
Ordinary disagreement, discussion of risk, and non-targeted profanity are not automatically violations. We consider context, severity, intent, repetition, and likely harm. A climbing community can be candid without becoming abusive.
How enforcement works
- Automated systems may flag serious safety categories for review.
- Users can report posts, comments, route beta, media, profiles, and other supported content.
- Users can block another account to suppress interaction and content where supported.
- Administrators may dismiss, review, hide, remove, restore, or otherwise act on content and accounts.
- Repeated or severe violations can lead to feature restrictions or account termination.
Report or appeal
Use the flag control in the app when available. Include enough context for a reviewer without repeating private information unnecessarily. For urgent account or moderation questions, contact lifesurferdesigns@gmail.com. My Climbing Guide is not an emergency service; contact local emergency services for immediate danger.
