Terms of use

These terms govern your use of My Climbing Guide, operated by LifeSurfer Designs.

Climbing risk and route information

Climbing and outdoor travel are inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Maps, route locations, grades, ratings, photos, beta, conditions, and access information may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or user-submitted. My Climbing Guide is not a substitute for professional instruction, personal judgment, appropriate equipment, partner checks, posted rules, or current guidance from land managers. You are responsible for evaluating conditions and choosing whether and how to climb.

Accounts

You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly notify us of unauthorized access. Do not impersonate another person, automate abusive account creation, or use another person's account without permission. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant LifeSurfer Designs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, moderate, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the My Climbing Guide service. This license ends when the content and associated backups are deleted, except where a limited copy must be retained for safety, legal, or abuse-prevention purposes.

You must have the right to post your content. Do not upload another person's private information, copyrighted work, image, or likeness without appropriate permission.

Community conduct

You agree to follow our Community Standards. Prohibited conduct includes credible threats, exploitation, targeted harassment, hate, doxxing, impersonation, scams, spam, malicious location sharing, and illegal content. We may use automated tools and human review to detect or investigate violations.

Reports, blocking, and moderation

The app provides tools to report content and block users. We may hide, remove, restore, or limit content; restrict features; suspend or terminate accounts; preserve evidence; and contact appropriate authorities when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or the public. Moderation decisions can be imperfect. Contact support with relevant context if you believe an action was incorrect.

Location sharing

Shared pins are for intentional, time-limited coordination with selected recipients. Confirm the intended location and recipients before sending. Do not use the feature to track, threaten, deceive, or expose another person. A pin is not an emergency-location service and may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate.

Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the service, bypass access controls, scrape private data, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, overload the service, distribute malware, or use the app in a way that violates law or another person's rights. Do not rely on the service for emergency communications.

Service changes

The app is under active development. Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. We may update route and map data, limits, safety controls, and these terms. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the updated terms where permitted by law.

Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account in the app under Profile > Account and data, or request deletion through our account deletion page. Deletion is irreversible after completion. Limited de-identified safety, legal, security, and deletion-audit records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. LifeSurfer Designs is not liable for climbing decisions, injuries, property damage, access violations, lost data, user conduct, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
